Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect

We collect your name, email address, and authentication provider (Google or Apple). We also store the profile information and content you create in Meetzi, including your username, profile photo, weekend availability, friend relationships, group memberships, plan proposals, votes, comments, trips, and optional feedback submissions. If you enable push notifications, we store your device token. If you optionally add a phone number, we store it as a profile field so friends you allow can use the group text feature.

2. How We Store Data

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure (powered by AWS). Authentication tokens are stored in your device's Keychain. We use row-level security to ensure users can only access data within their groups.

2a. Phone Numbers

Providing a phone number is optional. If you add one, it is shown only according to the visibility setting you choose so friends can start a group text outside Meetzi. Meetzi does not verify your phone number and does not use it for advertising or marketing. If you opt in to contact discovery (see §2c), a one-way hash of your phone number is also stored server-side; you can opt out at any time.

2b. Calendar

If you connect Google Calendar, Meetzi accesses your connected calendar data to add or update Meetzi plans on your calendar. Calendar access is optional and can be revoked at any time.

2c. Contact Discovery

Contact discovery is optional. When you tap “Find friends from your contacts,” your address book phone numbers are sent to our server as one-way hashes (SHA-256 with a server-side pepper) and discarded after matching — we never store your raw contact list. We compare these hashes against hashes of phone numbers that other Meetzi users have opted to make discoverable. You can opt out at any time in Profile → Edit → Phone.

3. How We Use Data

Your data is used solely to provide the Meetzi service — coordinating availability and plans with your friend groups, helping you find friends already on Meetzi, powering optional calendar sync, and responding to support or bug reports you send us. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertising networks.

4. Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we send alerts for new plans, vote milestones, and plan confirmations within your groups. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

4a. Feedback and Diagnostics

If you send feedback through the app, we store the message you submit along with app version and basic device information so we can investigate bugs and improve the product. We also use crash and performance monitoring tools to detect failures, hangs, and app health issues.

5. Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through Settings → Delete Account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Your profile, availability, votes, friendships, group memberships, plans you proposed, comments, trips, and phone number will be removed or disassociated as appropriate.

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Meetzi: Supabase (database and authentication, hosted on AWS), Mixpanel (product usage analytics), Sentry (crash and performance monitoring), and Google Calendar (only if you choose to connect your account). Meetzi does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
